Thank you all so much for all your kind words and prayers for our family's loss.  Each email was so treasured and truly helped us thru this painful time.  Bless you all.

Simplicity 9870 Highland Mod Dress, Cape & Capelet 1972 what a one of a kind look this has!  My head is spinning just thinking about fabric.

So good to be back - not only do I enjoy my "job" but staying busy is a help too.  Had my husband staying busy too scanning away yesterday.  I feel so "behind" but will catch up this week I hope - smile.

McCall's 5064 Riveting Jacket, Coat, Top, Dress & Pants 2006 part one of something new and something old.  The "tented" coat or jacket blows my skirt up.  I can even picture that little jacket with a great pair of jeans.

The something old is a one of a kind apron pattern:

Simplicity 4000 Pow Pop-In Dress or Top / ca. 1961 - I love this one!  I can picture a hep cat gal in a beatnik coffee shop wearing one of these items in the sixties.  I found one other on the internet which I bought too so it's coming in the next week or so.  I couldn't pass it up!

A special thank you to one of my
customers who provided me with a picture of a dress she had made from McCall's 9861 a 1950's Jumper or Dress Pattern.  Her creation brought this dress to life!  When I get a few more exemplars I'll be creating a spot on my web site to showcase your creations!

Simplicity 8412 Get Smart Spy Mini-Coat, Skirt & Pants 1969 my first choice for today.  Unfortunately it's a tiny 7JP - dang!  I researched and it's so rare I wasn't able to pick up any others in a real size.  If you are tiny or good at resizing what a treasure this is.  This pattern epitimizes what the 60's Mod fashions were all about.

Put in a bunch of great night wear patterns.
Simplicity 4796 Lazy Pajamas, Nightgown & Robe 2004 is one of them.  Check out the rest from today:  Pajamas Galore

Good morning pattern lovers!  So sorry not to post yesterday but the weekend was an extra good time for sales and it took me all day to get them ready and get lists in too.  By the time I got my head above water it seemed too late.

Today's featured pattern is McCall's 9354 Steamy Sleeveless Blouse 1953 sadly in a bitty size but wowee that long fitted version is killer.

Found a number of mail order Prominent Designer patterns that started listing yesterday.  Listed a wrap mod dress today that's pretty special too.

I'll be sending out a newsletter from my website on Friday morning announcing a long weekend sale with 15% off but will post here Thursday morning so that you will be able to shop one day sooner and not miss out on that special pattern you've been eyeing.  So drop back Thursday morning for the coupon keyword!

SALE ONLY FOR YOU!  A Big 20% Off - Use Coupon Code BLOG at checkout to get your discount.  This sale is not open to anyone but you guys! It ends Sunday night when I go to bed and I am an early to bed gal so shop early on Sunday!

Featured pattern is Butterick 4697 Pointed Collar "Shirt" Dress 1970's - okay it's not a super oldie or exotic but it is real.  And useful!  Of course some vintage patterns went in today!   My other pick was New York Pattern 698 Pretty as a Picture Dress 1940's but so rare it's quite pricey.  But so special!

Also put in a number of Christmas project patterns.

Looking for out of print or hard to find sewing or craft books?  I know that Amazon.com is a great resource but my favorite and first to check when I'm looking is ABEBOOKS which to me is much easier to search and navigate than Amazon.  Plus it's just books and nothing else.  I've bought quite a few books there and been very pleased.  I just put in under "Title" Vogue Sewing and it brought up over 600 books starting at $3.57.

Style 2691 Romantic Off Shoulder Dress & Overskirt 1995 the ultimate special occasion dress.  I only found one other on the internet.  Where did all these Style patterns go?

Got some holiday patterns in today and more scanned for tomorrow.  So if you are one of those lucky people who does things early check them out.  I'm lucky to get my shopping and projects done a week before Christmas!  And get my taxes to the accountant just days before April 15.

Just got my mail today and there are a batch of Prominent Designer mail order patterns from the 1970's.  You can be sure next week will have them in!

McCall's 7939 Charming Pullover Dress 1982 which would have not been my first choice as a featured pattern but the one I picked got bought!  Oh and it was a beauty too!  If you want to tease yourself you can see it here:  Mail Order A853

But this cutie is worth seeing.  The upper middle is my fav with some cute lace trim at top - very summery.

My food dehydrating has been fun!  Did some strawberries, bell peppers, hot peppers and will start some potatoes today.  Any suggestions or favorite foods to dehydrate?  Starting canning this week too - making bread and butter pickles.  Wish me luck!

Now I need the time to start a sewing project - making a personalized Snuggie.  Want to make some for Christmas gifts too.

Simplicity 6355 Outstanding Front Wrap Skirt & Blouse 1984  and what a super classy outfit this is.  Flattering front of skirt too with that double breasted button look.  Doing a double feature today because it was a toss up between these two.

Marian Martin 9227 Explosive Halter Dress & Bolero 1950's  which for once is a normal size for "real" women.  Too often these oldies are small sizes.  I swear I actually had this pattern a while back but couldn't find it in my old listings.  Perfect for a summer evening!

McCall's 6573 Dreamy Shirt-Dress 1979  a wonderful yet stylish dress featured today!

Putting aside all the Christmas craft patterns and there are so many I think I'll start on them this week or next week.  So keep an eye out.

Finally hit the 100+ temps here and went to the lake and river for an all day fish and swim time on Saturday.  Just lovely!  Harry caught some nice fish - I caught one.  But I wasn't working hard at it - truly!  The worst day of fishing is better than the best day of working as they say!

Style 2700 Just Magnificent Jacket & Skirt 1995 which is so Princess Di.  That pale pink is perfect too - maybe it's just the picture or "visual" that draws me to this pattern.  Style patterns are blissfully multi-sized too for all figures.

Getting ready for Fall or Halloween?  I put some Halloween themed patterns in today.

Making my first (oops second but the I am using the first try as my "Mulligan") batch of dehydrated stuff.  Strawberries & pineapple.  Also printed out a recipe from TipNuts for bread and butter canned pickles.  Canning is such a mystery to me but I'll be tackling it soon.

Vogue 9712 Striking Dress with Front Overlay 1986 and wow I wish I could pull this one off.  Too short and stumpy.  There's a word I like to use - "edgy" - and this is it for me.

I'll be having a sale the weekend of the 12th and will start it early for you guys.  Heading to either Kingman or Phoenix to visit my friend who is back in the hospital.  If things worsen I will leave sooner and start the sale sooner too.  Keep those prayers coming.

Do you hate trying to figure out Roman Numerals?  I do.  I can never remember the C's and D's and L's and M's.  I mean the V and X and I are easy but come on!  Found a site online that does it for me:  Roman Numeral Conversion Site which also does fun things like give you the Gregorian Calendar. - hmmmm - I mean you might need that some day - NOT!

Got my husband scanning like a psychotic bobblehead doll.  He's on a roll so a ton of stuff coming at you.  He's already scanned for tomorrow and today he's getting the boat ready to go fishing this weekend.  What a lucky gal I am!

Simplicity 7598 Jaunty Dress with Flared Skirt 1968 just right for a summer evening.  Got on a listing frenzy yesterday.  Word of caution - I have a very dear friend I go camping with that is in the hospital and it is very serious.  I may disappear for a few days to go see her in Phoenix if she gets transferred to the Mayo Clinic there.  Please add Kim to your prayers.

Hope you all had a wonderful Memorial Weekend and paid tribute to our military for all they do for us.  God Bless them!

Butterick 8438 Girl's Hip Tip Jacket, Skirt & Blouse 1950's - figured it's time for me to feature a kid's pattern and this caught my eye. Not sure if any kid would stand still for this retro style - most want to dress like everyone else but if your kid loves retro this is perfect!

Sorry I didn't post yesterday and didn't put too many patterns in.  I put them in Sunday night and Monday I came down with a bug.  I was bedridden (to my cats' delight) most of the day.  Luckily I had a bunch already scanned and ready to go so put most in last night and this morning.  Feeling kinda weak today but overall much better.

Put in a ton of doll clothes patterns - came into a bunch and decided to put them all in at once.  So wade thru them to the really good stuff!

Also have a ton of Christmas craft patterns that I will put in well before Christmas in a bunch.

While researching patterns and dating them to list I discovered that Cemetarian had updated their pattern info and dating at their site.  How to Date Vintage Sewing Patterns is so helpful and if you have any old patterns you want info on check them out.
