Simplicity 9799 Fashionista Fitted Dress & Cape 1980

My favorite listing for today is Simplicity 9799 Fashionista Fitted Dress & Cape 1980 not as "old" as I normally like to list but opted to put my fav in just for me!  The cape coat affect is wonderful - not a plaid fan and the brown and tan a bit understated IMO.  I think of a deep red -

We have "adopted" a child in Kenya to sponsor and are thrilled.  Some members of our church recently went on their yearly trip to help in a very poor village and orphanage and they are working with the Tumaini International Ministries to help children with their tuition, school fees, uniforms and books, food, clothing, health care, Christian camp week and counseling.  Our sponsored child is a young lady named Faith who is 13.  Older children are harder to get sponsored so we picked one of the older kids on purpose and her name just grabbed me.  So many children there are in need of sponsors and if you were ever thinking of giving this gift of life just contact them online.

I spent 3 weeks in Kenya in 1981 and loved the country and the people.  When our church went there it brought back some lovely and also sad memories.  The abject poverty is overwhelming and once you see something like that you never take what you have for granted again.
