Vogue 7480 Dazzling Jacket, Blouse, Wrap Skirt & Pants 1980's which appears kind of "eh" at first glance but check out the long long jacket version in the middle.  This pattern is so versatile with a bit of edgy thrown in.

Put a number of Design Your Own patterns in too that are very nice - a good mix and match do it yourself way to do it.

Found another Vogue pattern that goes into the funny hat category.  What is it with vogue that they have kooky display hats? Maybe it's just me - grin.

Simplicity 3591 Work of Art Sheath Dress / ca. 1960 with nice underarm stitching (dolman?) and that little collar is a must.  Some day's listings are better than others and today well they are all awesome!  Got that bunch of Style Patterns and put some in today and will put more in tomorrow and I have another batch on the way to me.  They are all early 1990's and getting harder to find.

Put my first posting on Vintage Bulletin and even had a sale!  It's not just a blog but also a place for dealers and sellers to post new and interesting stuff for sale.  Check it out if you haven't it is awesome. 

Melodee from ML Creations sent me a huge box of vintage buttons and I spent last evening with them spread around on the living room floor and salivating.  I set some aside just for me (grin) and some will go as extra little "gifts" to my customers with pattern orders.  She knew that I love to add little treasures so a big thank you Melodee!

McCall's 9118 Wonderful Wrap Arounder Dress 1967 such a hard to find pattern!  Easy on, easy off!  Get creative with this one too - trim, ribbons and bows let your imagination go wild.

Simplicity 6328 Refined Retro Dress & Jacket 1965 - out of nearly 50 listings today this is THE ONE.  Best of all it's one of the few plus size vintage patterns out there that is actually stylish.  I have alot of buyers and visitors asking for stylish plus patterns.  Believe me I always pick them up when I find them!   Speaking of Style I just acquired number of Style Patterns that I should get in about a week.  Like the New Look line (pre-Simplicity acquisition) their designs ring my bell.  A bonus is the multi-sizing.  It's always a heartbreak to find an awesome pattern in one size only.  That's expected with the oldies but some of the newer only have one size or a 3-5 size.  These puppies are 6-16 or 6-18.

 

Listed a Vogue 9970 that made me bust out laughing.  Not the jacket and dress but the hat!  It's kind of an offside conehead design.  Who would wear that LOL!

 

Sorry no sale this weekend as I promised.  We didn't go camping - no big surprise.  The west coast is getting its butt kicked with rain and snow.  Our old neighbors said our old house has snow up to the windows.  Okay I "sort of" miss that.  But not the shoveling.  We got mass amounts of rain and i refuse to camp in the mud.  I'll have the sale next weekend instead.  My sister is coming for a long weekend and we'll be busy shopping - oh yeah!

McCall's 8335 Show Stopping Dress 1966 with a nice high-yoked bodice and variable sleeveless or long puffy sleeves. Rain rain rain today. Delaying mailing of packages today so as to avoid any wet packages! No end in sight today. Kind of a nice change though - we are usually so dang dry.

Found a very cool blog site that puts my little one to shame! It is the Vintage Bulletin and as soon as I can figure out how to join I am going to LOL. It has much more than just vintage patterns and covers vintage fashions of all kinds. Pretty neat!

 Finally found a way to add extra pictures yay.  Sometimes I want to put other stuff in and well it took me a while to figure it out.

Also an interesting - though pretty pricey - clothing and accessory site that had this very cute mod dress in a number of fabric styles at ModCloththey had a ton of clothing and accessories to choose from so check it out.

Butterick 3208 Witchy Woman Skirt, Pants & Slip 1993 which makes me think of Stevie Nicks of Fleetwood Mac. Dishy Swishy skirt or palazzo pants option. Love it! It was a toss up between this one or Butterick 3202 Trendy Top, Shredded Skirt & Slip 1993 which has a super skirt!

Another weird day yesterday with high winds, rain and power surges. Had my computer down on and off late yesterday so had to finish scanning and listing today. Sigh -it's only Wednesday what else will happen?

Advance 8397 Movie Star Dress with Side Swept Drape / ca. 1957 a pattern which made my eyes pop out and I got short of breath. And these gals know they are hot - just look at their haughty faces.

Sorry to post late today. While I was scanning and editing yesterday my computer wigged out and panicked with a virus. Blew me away - I hadn't even been at odd sites just my regular ones. What a mess. My husband spent hours trying to get rid of it and doing hours of anti virus scanning. We have a virus protection which alerted us that we were infected. So weird. So I finished scanning and editing this morning and just got done listing. Whew.

I created a new category for pet clothes and accessory patterns. I don't have too many yet but I'm working on it.

Simplicity 4262 Dreamy Dress - Wow Neckline / ca. 1962 which normally I wouldn't put as a feature pattern because it is missing the front neck facing. But I couldn't find one other on the internet and it is a glorious style! That neckline is glorious. It has two skirts - one of which is uncut. It's also a Slenderette pattern.

Got a fun collection of costume patterns this weekend that I put in too. Found several from the ArkiVestry Haunt series that are so Cirque Du Soleil Goth looking - very fun!

Got a new cellphone yesterday. The new technology is mind boggling. Touch control, screen scrolling by touch, internet, and so many features it is intimidating. It will be much more user friendly for keeping in touch with my customers. Are you as addicted to cell phones as I am?

Butterick 8792 "Firecracker Flounce" Skirt / ca. 1959 the ultimate wiggle skirt. The description actually calls it a "firecracker flounce" - which makes me long that today's patterns be more creative in their descriptions like older pattern makers did. The generic and boring description makes me yawn.

Kwik Sew 1642 Eye Catching Angular Dress & Jumper 1987 so very 80's in styling. Does it matter anymore if something is "out of style" or is there any such thing? This look just doesn't seem "out" to me. The good thing about Kwik Sew is the multi-sizing. Nothing more disappointing than loving a pattern not in your size huh! The dress doesn't "blow my skirt up" but the jumper sure does. Not a fan of dolman (?) sleeves I guess.

Simplicity 6713 Bodacious Sleeveless Jacket & Two Skirts 1990's one of those gorgeous styles that means you have to lift alot of weights to tone those arms. Never mind I'll wear a long sleeved shirt instead - at a certain age no amount of work lifts that sag. Some really cute and uncut girl's 1960's and 1970's patterns put in today too.

Spadea S-378 Spectacular Bubble Dress 1957 featured today but dang who would wear this. It cannot be flattering to anyone can it? Who could wear this and look good? Maybe as a shortie I'm just jealous of anyone who could pull this off - grin.

Super lunch with my girlfriend yesterday trying to catch up on 30+ years of history and reminiscing about old friends and co-workers. Neither of us fainted at the sight of the other fortunately. She has always been a "lady" and still is. I'm still the tomboyish jeans and tennis shoes gal. Some things never change.

McCall's 5005 Cosmopolitan Wiggle Dress & Jacket 1959 with a nice ooh la la dress but check out that little jacket! Skip the dress and with a cute top and a pair of jeans this jacket rocks. Some styles are truly timeless. Found a couple of very neat 50's and 60's patterns that are listed today. Dang I am tempted to try that jacket! If it's not snatched up well it may be mine! Any suggestions for fabric?

Simplicity 5613 Divine Dress with Two Skirts & Detachable Collar 1964 - something for anybody's taste! Skirt in middle with soft pleats is so dreamy. Glad some of you enjoyed that article. Forward any great article or websites you find and I'll pass them on.

Vogue 8110 Sassy Wrap Top & Skirt 1991 a newish featured pattern I couldn't resist with a great long almost peplum styled top and flared skirt. Found an interesting article about finding, dating, collecting and using vintage patterns. Gave me some new ideas too!

Wish there were more antique shops and swap meets here. I envy all of you that have lots to scrounge thru. I need to set up a visit with my sister in SoCal - they have those big flea markets!

McCall's 2288 Singing Cowboy Western Shirt + Transfer 1958 one of several to be listed this week of old Cowboy shirts I found at an antique shop over the weekend. For a break in camping the ladies and I headed into town to shop. Found a big box of old patterns stuck in a corner. I was in heaven! Sorry to miss yesterday and be late today. It was so beautiful we stayed an extra day (again) and got home late yesterday. Luckily I did quite a bit of scanning in between rides and relaxing so I'm at least not behind in that way.

Simplicity 4906 Wonderful Wartime Dress / ca. 1944 and can't you just see someone doing the boogie woogie in this - great visual! Too bad the hat isn't included in the pattern - can't decide if it's retro chic or just plain ugly. Been on a scanning frenzy - have pics for tomorrow and Thursday and will take my scanner and laptop camping and do scanning there just to get ahead. Start the new year off right. Okay well camping is not exactly what we do - no tent just a 40' 5th wheel with a garage for the off road car - it's called a "Toy Box" - Queen size bed, walk in shower, microwave, flat screen tv and DirecTV hookup - the works. I already did the tent thing, I'm too old to sleep in the dirt anymore.

Simplicity 3915 Girl's Middle School Retro Dress 1941 - love it when a pattern is actually dated. I can check the charts I have to get an approximate date but having those 4 numbers is a treat.

Butterick 7349 Knockout Wrap Halter Dress & Overskirt / ca. 1955 This beauty has issues but since I couldn't find another anywhere in the world after major searching someone will get a true treasure with this. Must be an expert though as it doesn't have any instructions and is missing a facing piece - who needs facing anyway! The style is amazing!

Merry Christmas to you all! I don't plan to blog again until Monday (but if I list any this weekend I'll put up something quick!). It's still feels odd to have Christmas without snow (it's been 6 years since we moved to Yuma) but since I can go outside and do yardwork today I'll get by LOL.

My husband and I went to see Avatar yesterday. What a ride. Literally. After an hour of swooping cameras and computer graphics sliding around and up and down I got motion sick and had to wait in the car until the movie was over. I wanted to cry. I get motion sick easily but never during a movie. The part I watched was absolutely thrilling and awesome. I think when it comes out in Blu-Ray I can tolerate it on the home theater. Hope so anyway!

There was never any doubt when I listed this that I would feature it in my blog. Vogue 7284 Spectacular High Society Dress 1951 - Doesn't this just reek of rich? It does have a huge problem however - no instructions - sigh. But since this is the only one in existence someone with skills (unlike myself) could snip snip and voila it. I also put some extra mail orders with a darling 1930's girl's dress.

Burda 4137 Uber Hippie Hipster Pants 1990's bringing back memories of those flower child days with a hint of contemporary in them. Had some oldies to post but liked this one best!

Spadea S-201 Femme Fatale Wiggle Dress 1954 - what an eye popper! I especially like the underarm stitching which has to make it fit the bust tight as can be. Can she breathe? Maybe that's why she has that distant look in her eyes - it's from lack of oxygen.

No listings tomorrow or blog - Last minute camping trip with friends - I swear we are always going camping but I do love it so. Gives me lots of "down" time but I have two huge bags of patterns to sort thru and I kick back and count pieces to relax. I'll head home tomorrow for a quick mailing (it's an hour away) and check on my kitties. Anne Adams 4441 Wow Wartime Blouse & Skirt 1940's that reminds me of Joan Crawford except it needs more shoulder padding. Kind of expect her eyes to twinkle - right out of a detergent commercial. Spadea 2200 Spectacular Trapeze Trio / Dress & Aprons 1960's a truly amazing find. Spadea patterns are enormously popular and hard to find. I have probably less than 10 and I look alot.

Heading out in 30 minutes for a dentist appt in Mexico. We have a fabulous dentist there with more modern equipment and technology than I've seen here in the U.S. - really! Plus there's the added bonus of getting Jose Cuervo Tequila about $6 cheaper too. Woo hoo.

Mail Order 8380 Sparkling Wrap Around Dress 1960's what a little gem! One of a number of new mail order patterns I got recently. Most were uncut or factory folded. I went thru dozens of 40's and 50's last night for completeness. What a great job I have! Scanning now a bunch of those for tomorrow. Here are the mail orders I put in today: Mail Order Patterns. It's Easy to Sew Lingerie 1972 - Sewing Book not an easy book to find. This is the Kwik Sew sewing book in those fun 70's styles that Kwik Sew put out.

Finally some rain here in dry Arizona. There are actually spots on the ground. Really. Super cold outside - oh around 60 degrees. Well come on it's cold for me!

Simplicity 1846 Festive Christmas Apron + Applique / ca. 1956 - is there any cuter apron anywhere on earth? And for Nancy - yes it does make you cook better and clean house better too! Some weird osmosis thing. A nice stiff fabric and/or lots of starch a must.

Found a number of darling apron patterns and this is another one. Advance 5423 Prettified Pouch Pocket Apron / ca. 1950 so rare that not one other could I find on the internet. I can see her learning out the back screen door and yelling "Timmy - Timmy dinner's ready" and then Timmy and Lassie would come flying. Okay I'm dating myself because I watched that show LOL.

Simplicity 1651 Avant Garde Smock 1930's - tres' artiste in style. Could be a demure dress or top or a true smock for doing crafts. These older patterns are getting harder to find. Came across a lot of 30's and 40's and 50's that I'll be going thru and putting a few in every day.

Have a nifty 20's dress to put in tomorrow too.
