Anne Adams 4601 Showcase Dress for Fashion Divas 1960's - with a neat pull thru collar.  I thought this was a wrap dress but it's not - the offset bodice has a slide fastener.  Whatever - it's lovely.

This must be the week for presents!  It's not even my birthday - smile.  A big thanks and hug to Sandra for the great addition to my cat figurine collection!

Kitschy, quirky, kooky and gotta have it!

Thank you Marie for the package of goodies!  When I saw the box sitting by my front door and your name at the top it felt like Christmas.

Still learning about food dehydrating - totally trial and error.  Hint - when doing tomatoes don't make them too thin, i.e., paper thin.  When removing them they turned into tomato flakes.  My favorite is still dehydrated apples.  Got to try some cinnamon while dehydrating.

Featured new is:  Style 2281 Explosive Sexy Backed Dress 1993.  Now the problem is making sure that you keep your back to everyone.  Just keep looking over your shoulder and if they try to move around you keep your back to them!

McCall's 5805 Voluptuous Dress with Two Skirts 1961 such an amazing pattern.  I found this pattern a long time ago but it was missing a bodice piece for the off shoulder view.  I put a "saved" search on Ebay and off and on searched the internet for it but only recently found it on Ebay.  This one is not only complete but only the bodice on View A is cut.

Featured new pattern:  McCall's 9181 Figure Flattering Top, Dress & Skirt 1998 with that long "shirtdress" on the left so lovely.

Put in that new category for Vintage Fashion & Style Articles and a few listed for today with more to come tomorrow.

Simplicity 9154 Grannyish Hippie Dress, Pants & Bolero 1970 a total "trip" down memory lane eh!  All kinds of verbal memorabilia come to mind - far out, groovy, oh just stop me!  I've fallen into the late 60's and early 70's time warp for a moment.

Creating a new category today that goes up officially tomorrow.  There were so many awesome articles from those old magazines that I couldn't bear to throw away.  Articles on clothing tips and styles for both men and women, and other fun things that I am making a Vintage Fashion Articles category.  It will cover not just fashion but articles on health, skin care, etc.

Finally broke down and got some business cards!  Yay for me.  Kept thinking I would design something myself and print them but never could quite find the time.  I will be sending them out with all packages so I know you'll get to see them soon.

Featured new pattern is:  Vogue 8112 Princess Seamed "Coat" Dress 2005 one of the prettiest "coatdress" patterns I've seen in a while.  That raggedy collar put on a totally business looking dress is a kick.

Mail Order 8468 Eleanor's Cap Sleeved Frock 1940's - this pattern used to belong to Eleanor Kisley and a big thanks to her for preserving this beauty and passing it on so that it came to me.  Wish I had a picture of her in this dress.  V-yoking so poignant - just an overall beauty.  No wonder it won a 1st Prize!

A new feature on my website compliments of my web host is a "Map It" feature.  When someone places an order there's a red Map It symbol that if I click on it I go to Google Maps and can see the address from a satellite view.  Oh this is so neat!  If you haven't searched around Google Maps try it.  My favorite was finding the Eifel Tower and believe me it wasn't that easy.  But worth the trip.  Unfortunately my area (if you wanted to see where I live - grin) isn't very clear.  Because we live by a military base and the proving grounds they "blur" it a bit.  Security.

New featured is Simplicity 8494 Saucy Coatdress, Skirt & Top 1988 - that dress is the eye catcher with a wide kimono belt and looks very kimono-ish.

Listed a ton for today and no listing tomorrow.  After a weekend of company some chores need to be done tomorrow because Sunday we go out to the river (again) with friends.

So a wonderful weekend wish to you all!

Butterick 9941 Sixties Rockin' Shirtdress 1960's is this glorious or not?!  Throw in that red plastic belt and this outfit truly rocks!  I found several online but all were cut and this one is uncut and factory folds.

I've been fascinated with knit and crochet hat patterns lately.  Will be posting one tomorrow from the 40's that is so awesome.  If you knit or crochet and love hats be sure and check in tomorrow.

New featured pattern is: Fabu-Leather 020 Luxurious Bomber Jacket 1995 a unisex and multi-sized pattern.  Who among us hasn't always craved a Bomber jacket?   Makes me want to watch Top Gun - hee hee.

Simplicity 8403 Priceless Mini-Coat, Skirt & Pants with Detachable Bib 1969 the epitomy of mod.  The loops and buttons that fasten the bib are darling.  Sadly the envelope is a mess but the pattern itself is in factory folds.

While shopping at Lowe's last week I was browsing their books & magazines looking for kitchen color ideas and ran across a new magazine called Flea Market Style - that is so me!  Tracked it down to a site called Margo's Junkin Journal which is sort of a blog spot but more of a how to with this new magazine created by them.  I didn't want to subscribe just yet but got the feeling this is a seasonal magazine so I bought the Spring 2010 issue via Paypal.  I'll let you know when it arrives and give a critique.  But what I saw at Lowe's really jazzed me.  Now I just need the time to do some of these fun projects.

New featured pattern is Butterick 3870 Fitted & Shaped "Vest" Top & Skirt 2003 still perfect for late summer and warm fall days.

Butterick 5071 Explosive TNT Suit & Blouse 1960's which kind of reminds me of "That Girl" with Marlo Thomas twirling around the streets of New York (New York?).

For those of you who love Burda patterns it's no secret how great and unique their patterns are.  I often describe them as Euro Chic because European fashions just have a different "look" - I was browsing the new fashions at Burda and was in fashion heaven.  Check out Burdastyle.com

Found a very interesting sewing book the other day and discovered it is quite scarce but I knew right away it was unique.  For those of you who have loved ones with special needs and wish to buy this book I've made a special coupon just for this book with 50% off.  Use coupon code SPECIAL. Simplicity's Design Without Limits / Special Needs Sewing Book 1990

As someone who had a loved one with special needs I know how much work goes into finding the right clothing that "fits" and is comfortable.

Vogue 8932 Delectible One Piece Dress 1956 with the most stunning skirt.  It has a pleat in front and back and on sides.  Only Vogue could pull this fashionista style off.

The "Rent a Kids" came this weekend and we had a wonderful time at the river.  I got too much sun - not sunburned just burned out.  Even with a shirt, big hat and sunglasses my eyes and arms feel fried.

Butterick 5007 Bewitching Goth Costume 2007 is my new featured pattern.  Who cares if this is a "costume?"  This is great!  A bit raggy chic.

Me waiting for Harry to come back from parking the truck!  A nice hot day with good friends - that is best of what life is all about!

McCall's 8359 Bellisimo Dress with Bell Sleeves 1966.  The grey with trim catches my eye.  Very dignified looking with a mod touch great for the office or a business dinner.  Then make it zesty with a bright color with or without trim for a dinner date.

Looking forward to our friends' coming this weekend.  My house has exploded so a short blog.  Laundry, cleaning, changing sheets, getting the 5th wheel trailer ready for guests (it's our guest apartment).  Don't feel sorry for anyone staying in it LOL - it is quite roomy and has all the bells and whistles from walk in shower to flat screen tv.  Stay cool all of you in the heat wave area.

Featured "new" is Simplicity 6570 Stunning High Class Dress 1984.  Sometimes I'm not sure if it's the item or the picture that pulls me.  This is a great picture.  Hint - Do Not - I Repeat - Do Not make it with the horizontal stripes - ick.  No one looks slimmer in that pattern.  Unless you are a stick.  But that straight one with the vertical stripes is a winner.

Advance 8682 Tres' Haute One-Piece Dress / ca. 1958 - can you see this on a 1950's rich lady at the Waldorf for lunch with her haughty friends?  What a great visual.

New featured is: Vogue 2463 Jazzy Top with Neckline Variations 1990 and nothing but the B view caught my eye.  Square neckline with fitted waist - yum.

Our "rent a kids" coming for a visit this weekend.  Bringing their boat and we'll head out in our boat for a weekend of fun at the river.  Should be fun - it's sure hot enough here to stay in the water all day.  Hope you all are staying cool during this heat wave!

McCall's 9191 Refined Dress - Pretty Foldover Collar 1952 - understated elegance and absolute class.

Thank you Nancy for the great link on how to make gift bags from newspaper - I've already printed it out to use for the next birthday and then Christmas.  I thought it would be fun to use the colored store holiday sale advertisements from the newspaper and Nancy thought Christmas wrap would be great too.  More fun stuff at this web blog all about the color orange.

Featured new pattern:  Simplicity 7205 Kittenish Dress with Top Variations 2002 for those of you with an upcoming luau or other outdoor party!  With the heat wave hitting the east coast and mid-west this could come in handy.  Stay cool!

The Designer for September Vol. XX Fashion Magazine 1904 and also The Designer for March Vol. XXIII Fashion Magazine 1906 two rare and wonderful ladies' fashion magazines in the style of Ladies' Home Journal.

In my research I found many advertisements from these magazines but few entire magazines.  I got a lot of them and these were the only two that were entire.  Just looking through them is a true walk down history's lane.  The illustrations are all so frameable.  It was so tough to figure out what pictures to put in and I did put quite a few extras.

I listed some hat patterns that came from the magazines that were only salvageable in part and will list more later this week including some wonderful crochet patterns.  Many of the advertisements and illustrations I will share when I mail out orders.

New featured is Vogue 7784 Cutting Edge Top 1990 which in my former career days as an office manager would have been in my closet in a hot second.

Want a cheap vacation?  Check out Earthcam - I found the Eifel Tower - awesome!

Apologies for not doing the Saturday listing as promised.  Hubby put his foot down about working too much and we went swimming under the Ocean to Ocean Bridge instead.  My feelings of guilt are still there.

Butterick 9465 Alluring Dress with Two Skirts / ca. 1960 and who would make it with that full skirt?  No way!  Great darting on the bodice and the skirt for a huggy fit.

Always looking for nourishing - healthy but delicious recipes and ran across a site called Nourishing Days with recipes, cook books and more on eating healthy.  Check it out.  If we eat healthy we can fit into those patterns we are coveting but the size is too small - wink.

New featured pattern is McCall's 4516 Sharp & Edgy Set of Tops 2004 which I have two of with a variety of sizes.
